“Periodo blu” is a dance theatre work exploring the human condition, using the colour blue as a starting point. Periodo Blu depicts two characters. One is enveloped by the calm and looking to the future, inspired by the boundless colour of sea and sky and the elemental colour of air and water. The other is anchored to the past and lets themselves be contaminated by sadness, inspired by the suffocating colour of deep sea darkness and depression. Together they play with a mannequin head, symbolizing the loss of contact with reality.
Their relation to this last reveals conflicting desires: to create and destroy, to be fixed and to move, to move on or to dwell on past events, to be open to possibility or to be closed off to human connection. Everything points to the relationship with the shade of blue in which the characters are associated with. Periodo Blu explores shades of the human condition, through a spectrum which is both life-affirming and ruthless.
